7″ per festeggiare i 10 anni di attività. Che dire? Questi anni son corsi via come macchine impazzite (semicit)… Non che i Miners si siano mai ammazzati di fatica, visto che questo è la loro seconda uscita ufficiale (una ogni 5 anni, ottima media).
E’ anche senza dubbio la loro uscita migliore, due pezzi leggermente più lenti rispetto ai loro vecchi pezzi ma stracolmi di cori, e d’altronde che cos’è l’oi se non ci sono i cori? Il coro di “Gomiti al bancone” (che vede la gradita partecipazione alla voce di Pablo degli Uguaglianza di Savona) è davvero trascinante, un piccolo inno, e il lato B “Come il vento” (che no, non è la cover degli Intolleranza, ahah) non è da meno. Due pezzi che rimangono subito ben fissati in testa e che fanno quello che devono fare le canzoni punk, e in particolare oi: farsi ricordare e far venir voglia di cantare e sbracciarsi sotto al palco con una birra in una mano e, boh, un’altra birra nell’altra. Probabilmente questo disco non cambierà la storia della musica, ma d’altro canto chi glielo aveva chiesto? Io personalmente volevo due pezzi oi di impatto, mica i Led Zeppelin.
Registrazione davvero ottima, musicalmente ci siamo e grafica semplice ed adatta. Sette bretelle meritatissime. E come regalo vi metto una versione live di “Gomiti al bancone” ripresa a giugno 2022 in occasione del loro concerto a Rovato con gli One Droppers. Enjoy!

A 7″ to celebrate 10 years of activity. What can I say? Miners have never recorded so many things, so this is their second official release (one every 5 years, excellent timing).
It’s also without a doubt their best release so far, two songs slightly slower than their old ones but packed with backing vocals, and what’s the oi if there aren’t backing vocals anyway? The chorus of “Gomiti al bancone” (which sees the featuring of Pablo from Savona’s Uguaglianza as vocalist) is really enthralling, a small hymn, and the B-side “Come il vento” is no less. Two songs that immediately remain firmly fixed in mind and that do what punk songs (and oi in particular) must do: be remembered and make you want to sing and wave your arms under the stage with a beer in one hand and, uhm, another beer in the other. This album probably won’t change the history of music, but noone asked that… I personally wanted two impact oi! songs, not Led Zeppelin.
Really excellent recording, technically it’s ok, and graphics are simple and suitable. Seven well-deserved braces. And as a gift, I’m posting a live version of “Gomiti al bancone” filmed in June 2022 during their gig in Rovato with One Droppers. Enjoy!
